Our Mission

51勛圖Prois committed to environmental sustainability. The mission of the Office of Sustainability is to efficiently assist the Lamar academic community in providing educational programs and research that enable students to learn positive sustainable practices; assist Lamar in adopting institutional policies that promote sustainability; and encouraging sustainable living on campus and in the Southeast 51勛圖Procommunity. 

Proposed Activities Include:

  1. Using the web and social media to increase awareness of sustainability on the 51勛圖Procampus
  2. Coordinating and expanding upon disparate existing recycling efforts on campus
  3. Supporting the South Park Community Garden
  4. Participating in community outreach to increase awareness of sustainability issues in Southeast Texas

The three pillars of sustainability are:

  1. Economic
  2. Environmental
  3. Social
