Housing Rates and Meal Plans

51³Ô¹ÏProoffers affordable housing and meal plan options for students in the residence halls. The all-inclusive housing rate provides fully furnished suites, Internet, and all utilities costs paid. There is 24-hour staffed security monitoring with resident card access and live-in professional and student staff on-call 24 hours. Each residence hall has a common area full kitchen, activity area, free washer/dryers, and resident access to the outdoor swimming pool, basketball, and volleyball courts.

All rates listed are per semester, per resident. All rates are contingent upon 51³Ô¹ÏProState University System (TSUS) board approval. Housing rates are subject to change. Students residing in university housing are required to purchase a meal plan.

Fall 2026 & Spring 2027

Prices are per semester

2-Person Suite, Private Bedroom: $3,477 per semester
3-Person Suite, Private Bedroom: $3,130 per semester
3-Person Suite, Shared Bedroom: $2,346 per semester

Summer 2026

2-Person Suite, Private Bedroom: $731 per term
Summer I and Summer II are separate terms.

  1. 200 Meal Swipes at Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall + $350 Dining Dollars: $1,971 per semester
  2. 105 Meal Swipes at Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall + $450 Dining Dollars: $1,846 per semester
  3. Unlimited Meal Swipes at Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall + $175 Dining Dollars: $2,179 per semester
  4. Summer Plan: 14 weekly Meal Swipes + $75 Dining Dollars: $549 per term

Meal Plan FAQs

  • What are Meal Swipes?
    Meal Swipes are used throughout the semester at Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall for an all-you-care-to-eat experience. Each entry is 1 Meal Swipe.​
  • What are Dining Dollars?
    Dining Dollars are tax-free currency used at retail dining locations on campus.
  • Do Dining Dollar balances roll over from semester to semester?
    Dining Dollar balances do roll over from Fall to Spring semester terms. However, Dining Dollar balances do not roll over from Spring to Summer/Fall or Summer to Fall terms. They expire on the last scheduled class day of the designated semester term.
  • Can I change my meal plan?
    Meal plans can be changed up until the 12th class day of the current semester term.

  • What if I have special dietary needs?​
    Lamar Dining Services can accommodate many dietary needs. If you have a food allergy or need dietary assistance,  their department. Lamar Dining’s culinary staff is trained to develop a delicious solution to meet your needs. However, you must select a meal plan before a request for exemption will be considered.

    Residents may receive a medical exemption from the meal plan requirement upon proper supporting documentation. However, you must select a meal plan before a request for exemption will be considered.
