American Sign Language B.A. Concentration in Advocacy - 4 Year Degree Plan

Lamar University's Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language with a concentration in advocacy prepares you for working with the deaf community. Each student must complete a required departmental core of courses, which includes ASL, linguistics of fingerspelling, global deaf communities, etc. In addition, each student will complete the pedagogy courses required for licensure. The program is offered only on-campus and will gain documented proficiency in ASL, validity within the deaf community and networking opportunities within the professional community.
